good stuff and interesting comparision. says a lot about where computing power is and what the next level of fs should be!
Definately, Flight Simulator needs even more detail on the ground; Even if it takes 10gigs of hard-drive space.
Google may have more detail in some areas, like very large cities, but in most of the country, their detail level is must lower. Even in some fairly big cities. That si what I would like to see Google improve on.
Uhh, Google Earth is in the terabytes of data.. far more detailed then any game can be (reliably) at this point..
Flight Simulator is almost at 3 gigs now and look at the quality. A bit more indepth textures wouldnt take terabytes.
Over the whole planet, Google Earth is much more detailed. Flight Sim may have good detail in some places, but not the whole earth. But doesn't Microsoft have a similar program as Google Earth now? They should link that with Flight Sim. Then you could fly anywhere on the planet and it would just stream that part of the virtual world with you.
I'd like to see google earth add textures to the buildings in major cities, and up the resolution of some of the rural sat photos. Then someone needs to make a flight sim that pulls the environment from the server as you fly.
like i just found out, bagdad is, moscow is, and google earth is the perfect thng for terrorists to plan with.
Simply, microsoft should ally with google and make a flight sim that downloads and buffer the scenery from google satellites images.
